The Calgary Region Hydrogen Hub (CRH2) officially opened, cementing Calgary’s place as a powerhouse in Canada’s clean hydrogen economy. This dynamic collaboration brings together startups, industry, academia, funders, and hydrogen demand centers to advance hydrogen fuel cell technology and build a robust ecosystem for hydrogen deployment.
Backed by Calgary Economic Development, the Transition Accelerator, Wheatland County, and federal and provincial governments, CRH2 is designed to accelerate the hydrogen economy by scaling up innovative solutions and uniting key players. Brad Parry, President and CEO of Calgary Economic Development (CED) and CEO of Opportunity Calgary Investment Fund, emphasized the city’s deep-rooted energy expertise. “Calgary is a city underpinned by innovation, that has and always will be the energy capital of Canada,” Parry stated. “With a skilled talent pool and forward-thinking businesses, we are strongly positioned to step forward, aggregate demand for hydrogen and test new energy solutions that can be scaled globally.”
