Presented with the Canadian Hydrogen Association

Hydrogen is one of the pillars of Germany’s multi-faceted strategy to diversify its national energy sources. In this in-depth conversation, we’ll provide a holistic view of the state of hydrogen in the German energy system, tracing the path from national strategy to the physical infrastructure currently being laid across the country. Join us as we move beyond the hype to examine what is working, what has stalled, and where the most promising opportunities lie as we head toward 2030.

Key Learning Objectives:

  • The Big Picture: Understand Germany’s unique geographical and climatic advantages—and challenges—within the broader European energy framework.
  • Strategy & Policy: Get a current update on the National Hydrogen Strategy, including how hydrogen is integrated into the 2026 energy mix.
  • Hubs & Valleys: Discover the role of regional “Hydrogen Valleys” in creating localized ecosystems that connect production, storage, and industrial off takers.
  • Steel & Pipe: Learn about the status of the 9,040 km Hydrogen Core Network and the timeline for cross-border import corridors.
  • Successes & Setbacks: A candid look at the most promising industrial projects vs. projects that failed to reach FID, with a focus on utilization risk and economic viability.
